Hi,
i'm working on a stable & fully working LineageOS ROM,

Unfortunately the officially released kernel sources, doesn't provide drivers for the
LCM - hx8394d (HX8394D_HD720)

It seems that even the community already tried to get drivers from other kernels, but those are lacking proper initialization routines, therefore the display suspension (deep sleep) & resume does'nt work properly.

This also results in small horizontal white lines (artifacts) at the left side of the display.

@ Ulefone, can you provide proper kernel sources / drivers for the panel, please?
(& if your driver is dts based, the proper dts file for the display?)

The device i'm using for testing has the following hardware combination:

Touchscreen: hx852xes
Display: hx8394d (HX8394D_HD720)

//// EDIT ////
Problem solved: Decompiled / Debugged Stock Kernel, wrote a new lcm-driver based on the original one.

//////////////

Thanks in advance!

Looks like Metal (like most of Ulefone phones) isn't supported/updated, so, sadly, I wouldn't expect any support from Ulefone anymore.

M.A.D. developers were able to get new touchscreens working with help of Himax (display manufacturer) and few experienced users, maybe you can use their sources, or contact M.A.D team for more help.

Edit: It looks like Ulefone has 'secretly' shared some parts of newer sourcecodes with developers, but it probably doesn't contain diplay drivers for newer Metal batch. Try to write to 'Miles' directly, maybe you'll get help from gim.

Got it fully working, i have decompiled & debugged the stock 20161226 kernel.

I'll keep you posted!

TWRP 3.1.0 with support for newer devices will be released soon

As well as a custom LineageOS14.1 rom afterwards
