Have you tried to clear cache of Wireless Update app in Apps section?

Yes, i have already tried that too.
Thanks for the suggestions. I'll wait a couple of days more. Worst case scenario, i'll download the ROM and flash it manually

When i got the phone it came with 2016-07-28 rom.
I also could not update it by OTA - same message that you have (up to date)
i had to flash it manually after it OTA worked has intended.

When I received my Metal, it never offered me to update so I had to flash it manually too.
After that, next update happened without issues

Hi,

I am new here, but have been following some of the threads here, because I have a Metal on order.  The tracking JUST hit the U.S. today, so I might have it before this weekend, hopefully, because we are going on an extended trip starting Saturday.

So anyway, the reason I'm posting is that, now that it seems like my Metal is coming soon, what is the verdict as of today, about what I should do with the phone FIRST?  I am especially worried about the malware situation.  FYI, my phone shipped in mid-November, so I'm guessing that it will come with the malware, and I would not want to put in my Google credentials while it had the malware.

So should I do an OTA immediately, and also will it even do an OTA before I put in my Google username and password?

Or should I do something else?

Thanks,
Jim

You Dee that users have problem with touchscreen upon OTA of  Nov17. Configure Settings / Wireless Update that you don't accept automatical OTA.
If Settings / About shows firmwarea of Oct24  - stay with.
If it shows firmwarea of Jul28 and Wireless Update offers you Oct24 - do the upgrade, but not to Nov17.
Them calm down, get using the phone, and consider simple tweaks to optimize battery, etc.
Mater, based on your opinions and skills, consider manual flashing of particular firmwarea, rooting, etc.
Don"t panic, phone is not that bad at ali - specially if you do not upgrade to Nov17 (but it seems that Ulefone has withdrawn that OTA anyway)

zgfg,

Thanks!

When I do an OTA, do I get that chance to select which one to update to?  Or does it always update to "the latest version"?

Thanks,
Jim

nope I try it and installing the last OTA update...  Post time 2016-12-14 01:19
You can't select, but it shows you which OTA upgrade it wants to perform - if you disable automatic upgrade, you have control to take it or not  Post time 2016-12-14 00:03
